Hey guys,

I've done a amass amount of exams (25) and have almost reached the capabilities of acing trial exams (Just keep making dumb mistakes). However, the one thing i can not seem to pull off is a perfect 6 mark answer to a profitability or liquidity question. I've gotten six marks once on a liquidty question where i wrote around 1 and 1/3 page (yes yes I know its quality and not quantitity). Every other question such as agreed value, depreciation methods, control accounts and cash vs profit i can ace discussion for. All I'm asking is for tips or model 6 mark answers anyone can provide that isn't from vcaa that their teacher has either marked for them or from tutor. Much appreciated as this is my only kryptonite in practice exams  :-[

As accounting 'discuss' type questions are generally marked holistically, that is, the assessor will consider your response in an overall manner to determine how well you answer the question, there is no real set model answer way of answering questions.

As a general rule though, 6 marks is equivalent to 6 decent points you have made, with both sides of the question being considered.

If you are marking your written answers based on practice paper model solutions, then this is ok, but you are always better off getting a tutor or your teacher to mark it, as the solution provided by the external company won't always be the only way to get full marks :)
