Next Year's Plans!

Hey guys!

I thought it would be cool to make a thread for us to say what we are wanting to do next year, whether that be a uni degree, tafe, work, gap year etc! If you are wanting to have a gap year, say what you wanna do the following year :)

This way we can see if any of the AN Community are wanting to go to the same uni/even the same course, because it would be nice to have a friend right from the beginning  ;D

I shall start with that I want to go to UTS and do a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism)/Bachelor of Laws, however I am extremely highly doubtful that I will get even near the ATAR required, so I will most likely be going to Macquarie Uni to do a Bachelor of Media (Journalism and Non-Fiction writing)/Bachelor of Laws

Comment below where you wanna be next year, or even past HSC students, comment where you are now cause who wouldn’t love to see a friendly face around campus or the work place or any other post-school environment ;)

aw this is a lovely idea!!

i would love to study international studies and media (pr/advertising) at unsw :-) at this rate, i'm not going to get the atar, so i'll probably do the media component first, which has a lower cut-off, then pick up international studies in second year.

This is a nice idea! :)
So I'm looking at either a bachelor of music/bachelor of education at UNSW (1st preference) or USyd. My other option is a Bachelor of Arts (history)/Bachelor of Education at UNSW, USyd or Macquarie.
Hopefully we all have some friends from AN at university! :D
Class of 2017 (Year 12): Advanced English, General Maths, Legal Studies, Music 1, Ancient History, History Extension, Hospitality
2018-2022: B Music/B Education (Secondary) [UNSW]

aww this is such a nice thread!

well i'm planning to do a bachelor in arts screen: production at the australian film television radio school. though if i don't get in, i'll do a diploma in screen and media at the academy of film, television and theatre (seeing that i already got accepted) and then reapply for aftrs. if things don't work out, my third plan is to do a bachelor in screen and sound at unsw.

i know film isn't really a popular choice at uni, but it'll be nice to meet some people from the AN community during uni!

You see, that's the great thing about uni. You are grouped with people of similar interests (duh.. same degree. You don't do a degree for no reason). While it might not be popular, at least you won't be alone.

... and of course, things are taken much more seriously :) It's a great environment to be in until you've been there a while then it starts to get painful (I was at uni for 5 years in total and by the end of it wanted to run). I am now happily working full time :)

Was looking at Sports Media at Canberra but will probably start broad in Journalism and possibly International Studies (French) to open up my options a bit. Looking for as much work experience as possible (one of the guys I went to primary school's dad is the CEO of Fox Sports  :D so definitely go to abuse that and also want to go for an internship at the Western Weekender since they have the best relationship with the Panthers players - even though the commute is around 2 hours it would be worth it haha). Also really want to do an exchange as part of my journalism program in Switzerland - looks like a magical place :)

Ahhhh we are so so so alike!!!

The course down there looked incredible but my family, friends and boyfriend all live in Sydney and I don’t want to move at the expense of my own happiness as dumb as it may seem to throw away that opportunity. Also I’m gonna presume you’re a Penrith supporter then? I’m a Manly supporter and sorry to say but after finals week 1, Penrith aren’t exactly a team I like... >:( ;)

Lol who am I kidding I absolutely hate everyone except Manly <3 <3 <3

Awesome thread!

I'm aiming to get into USyd for its Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Nutrition and Metabolism, as it is a pathway into their Masters of Nutrition :) 5 years of uni... :'( the other options for an accredited degree are UoN and UWollongong, which are pretty far away :P
Life is weird and crazy as heck but what can you do?

haha yeah same too much money to spend. a pity though because a year of the course was all work experience! but in the end i thought starting off broad is best and then just seeing where it takes me because it's very hard to crack into the sport journalism field :) haha yeah for like 8 years now, got some good driving hours going down to penrith to watch the games, aim to go 10 per season. ahah you might like to give the article i wrote for the roar a read on that game between manly and penrith and then shane flanagan's little outburst haha: http://www.theroar.com.au/2017/09/12/time-shane-flanagan-trent-barrett-grow/

Ahh I see! So gonna presume you live a fair hike from Penrith? I’m lucky I live super close to Brookvale Oval so I can get to every home game + having a family of fanatics we go to Melbourne, Gold Coast, Auckland, Brisbane etc etc etc although we only managed a couple of those this year due to HSC! :(

Nicely written article BTW, although not sure if I can say the same about the title or what your argument was...sorry, gotta protect ma T-Baz  ;D

Yeah on a good day it's around 80 minutes to get down there. Once though, we got stuck in traffic and it took us 2 hours just to get to Parramattta, so we hopped on a train, which was another 1 hour and 30 minutes to Penrith and sat in the rain for 80 minutes as Penrith scored 2 points... haha. But you are well and truly dedicated that is insane going all over to watch. I do Live Blogs for the games for a website called League Unlimited so it's at least a fun way to experience the games when I'm not at Penrith. And yeah thought you might not like the article  ;)

Last year I was about to work with League Unlimited but cancelled last minute because I was so busy with school! But love the people on that website!
