The stress is full on. I've certainly never experienced stress like I am at the moment, but I think its because I've done very little work so far.

Stress is a seriously powerful thing - so debilitating. I really cant distinguish epic stress with epic depression. It's horrible - your not alone.

Compared to who I am now, I was very stressed in Year 12. For the most part, I was able to harness this stress and use it to drive me (okay, I didn't exactly do a lot of practice exams and such, but still... I studied!).

Towards the end though, before exams, I ended up crying a lot. I think it was a bit of exhaustion building up as well... I found it difficult to sleep in the days approaching exams. I couldn't sleep because I was stressed, and I was stressed because I couldn't sleep. I had about 3 hours sleep before my physics and accounting exams because of this issue.

Point is, you guys are not the first, nor will you be the last, and you are most certainly not alone :)
Try to find something that will help you de-stress a bit... when I found myself unable to sleep, I found a deep-breathing exercise helped pull my heart rate down.

At this point, people finding themselves stressed because of the pressure should head back to basics... make sure you're eating properly, getting regular exercise, socialising (as in, don't drop off the face of the planet, but don't go overboard on this either), and giving yourself at least half an hour between when you finish studying and when you plan to go to bed (read a novel or watch an episode of your favourite show or something, so long as it allows you to just switch your brain off and enjoy it).

Trust in your ability to pull through - You CAN do this guys! ^_^
You've all put it far too much effort to give it all up now!!

Yerkes-Dodson's Law.

I think of this curve when I get stressed because it's like yay stress can be helpful even if it doesn't feel like it right now. Then I realise that I'm probably in the 'panic' section of the graph which... stresses me out more.

Yeah, cool story.

I'm not stressed right now. At all. Which is really, really bad because I haven't done any work that's important.

I certainally am..the holidays have been sooo stressful just studying all the time..organising and learning everything ahh

I suffer from anxiety disorder (before VCE - so don't blame VCE) so during this time I would have huge panic attacks. Studying whilst listening to music is good and what really got me through was thinking about that long break where I had no study for ages.

This is the time when VCE becomes it's toughest! Literally not feeling anything now is actually a worry. But now everybody is literally exhausted, and the practice exams pile up and I went through a stage this time last year when I would go blank with anything (this is when you need a break).

With the exams as bad as this seems you cannot go in and think about study scores or ENTER or otherwise you'll stuff it up. Your main objective in exams is to maximize the amount of marks you can get. In reading time look for all the gift marks and questions that will raise your confidence (worked wonders with me for methods), reading time is like an Easter hunt. If you strike a hard question move on because if you spend too long on one thing that's bad.

But seriously just think after all this you'll have finished VCE with holidays for ages. Just also keep that dream course of yours in mind and say that if you really want to do that course you'll get it!

Seriously good luck guys and I hope you guys end up getting what you want!

Pretty sure I have ocd but haven't consulted anyone really... So considering it's a form of anxiety disorder, I get really stressed and panic if I just let myself think of all the work I could have done and everything that can go bad in an exam. But the important thing is to control your stress to a manageable level. Just try to shut out all negative thoughts, but sort of leave enough so that you'll be motivated to work. Some stress is good.
When I get sad, I stop being sad, and be AWESOME instead. True story.
