Deducting time in exam

Hey guys,

So as most biology students know, when you do the practise exam on the VCAA website, some of them aren’t relevant to our new study design.

How much time am I meant to take out for a question and multiple choice? And what if the question was one mark or four marks? How much time do I take off then?

Cheers guys :)

I would split the marks by the time and then times it by the question. Eg 60 mark exam in 90 minutes
60/90= 0.67. So if you had a 4 mark question you would do 0.67 X 4 = 2.68 so take 2 1/2 minutes off.

Having said that I'm not doing the older exams (prior to 2012) timed because there are so many irrelevant questions.

So we have 150 minutes writing and 120 marks so technically speaking 1 minute 15 seconds per mark.
You'll find you don't need that long for some of the multiple choice questions so you should have some extra time for the more lengthy questions
