To be honest, Adam and I didn't even know each other. I guess it's just networking on Facebook. I'm assuming Bea (Beatroot) had Adam on Facebook and I had Bea on Facebook so she was the one who 'introduced' me to Adam through Facebook. Apart from Adam, I've only spoken to Susie or Jamon (kinda spoke to Isaac but I've never really had a full-on conversation with him since I've never been to his lectures).
Haha I've pretty much added a lot of people from AN on Facebook (Susie, Jamon, Adam, Bea, Katie)!

Meeting people from the Internet is really awkward T_T I'm already comfortable with Jamon and Susie (I've been to their lectures and have had quite long conversations with them) but I personally found meeting Adam to be kinda awkward- not sure if Adam found it awkward as well. Like, I had no clue what to say (even though he's initiated the conversation already lol) and it was kinda quiet between us when we walked to the AN stall lol.

I just get exhausted when I interact with a lot of people and since I've already spoken to a number of student ambassadors that day, I was dead by the middle of the day lmao. But it was cool meeting Adam irl!

Ah lol I have 2 fb accounts (1 real but never use because of personal distress and trauma and the other one I use previously as gaming back ups, now I use it for study purposes lol....).... I kinda feel awkward just adding people on fb as I am afraid of being 'weird' but at the same time wanted to do that haha

Yeahhh, to be honest, I don't think he even mentioned about mandatory industry experience. I do know from my other friend who does space engineering at USyd mentioned you get to build an aircraft in your first year, but it's not like you're applying the information to actual real-life situations where you're more prone to encountering issues :/
But unfortunately people value good talkers over good listeners -_- But it was great to see the AN lecturer team :)

OMG this is legit why I didn't come - I wanted to meet you guys and go to the expo but at the same time I'm super socially awkward. I basically don't talk unless someone else initiates and I don't have anyone on AN on FB so fml hahaha. It would be so cool if more of these opportunities arise again though, I lowkey regret not coming

Haha same! I have crappy social skills lol. I have them on FB because I had Susie and Jamon, and then it unlocked mutual friends like Katie and Bea. Even though I've added them as friends, we've never really talked on Messenger, except for the time Bea created a group chat with Adam and myself.

Well even if I did bump into any of you at the time it will be very awkward (since my face is not shown here, probably won't get recognised anyway haha)

If we were to take this phrase out of context, it would probably sound creepy coming from a 20-ish year old man from the Internet lol.

Lmao same! Awkwardness is my speciality as well lol

Honestly, I reckon it would be so cool to put to faces to names! I feel like I know lots of names but no faces 😂

Hey guys,
Can I just say this year has gone so fast! I remember starting the year and not looking forward to the year and now we're in Term 2 and my Major Work deadlines are slowly approaching! I just realised this when I looked at my calendar and realised I have two-ish weeks until History Extension is due. YIKES! Anyway, I also happen to have Modern History on the same day History Extension is due, so that's fun.

And I'm also realising that I'm ridiculously behind in my study notes. I've barely finished my SAC notes and physics and Modern notes are slowly falling behind. AND I really need to do past papers. I started doing 2U math past papers and I am finding them doable but whenever I bump into questions where I don't know how to do, I'm like 'WELP look who's gonna fail.'

But can I just say I was so proud of myself for finally writing my scholarship application for a UTS scholarship? I've been stuck on a plan but I've finally actually started writing and I finished it on Thursday and handed it in to my career adviser. Funny enough, I wrote my scholarship application in the bathroom because I literally have no time to spend on scholarship applications, so bathroom it is! I'm also applying to other university scholarships like GLEP and Macquarie Uni's Science and Engineering scholarship. Other universities like UNSW or USyd aren't open until August (and I haven't started my Co-op scholarship responses lmao).

Anyway, updates on my Major Works: I finished my synopsis yesterday so now I can get to the writing part! I'm reading HTA Prize Winner samples and I don't understand a word they're saying. My teacher did say history is supposed to be accessible and their academic writing isn't really helping so she gave us the exemplar essays from last year (they were sent for the HTA Prize and didn't win anything, but this was the first time my teacher sent essays for HTA). As for SAC, I'm refining my three chapters but I need to refine my introduction, write my log and conclusion, and do my appendix! Not sure if I can do all these in two weeks so rip :/

On another note, here are some more articles that I've written for We Make Change:

Animal Experimentation: The Ethical Dilemma

Honey Bee Comeback Doesn't Look Too Good for Other Pollinators

The Plastic Problem: Wildlife Consumption of Plastic

Anyways, see you soon!

Hey guys,
I kinda lost track of where I've updated apart from my Major Works so I'm just gonna start rambling (like I usually do lmao). Math exam was on Wednesday- doable but I know there will be silly mistakes there, so RIP Band 6. To be honest, passing math is good enough for me lol. I've lowered my standards so much that I'm cool with a pass. My class has been going through 3U stuff so I've been doing HSC papers, but then I got bored so now I'm teaching myself physical applications of calculus. It's not bad at the moment but I can feel a storm coming.

I also just submitted my UTS Women in Engineering Scholarship. I noticed when I read the criteria again, it was for Bachelor of Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Practice. No matter how much I researched about the diploma, it just popped up with course structure, but not like ATAR cut off. I already submitted it, but it would be good to secure some form of tertiary education. I'm also applying for Macquarie University Faculty of Science/Engineering scholarship and their Global Leadership Program. I need to write my responses for GLEP but the science/engineering scholarship is almost done. I'm also kinda waiting for an alumni scholarship to pop up because my dad went to their grad school and my sister is a soon-to-be alumni (she's graduating this year).

I also got my Modern History Task 3 back, and I failed. My teacher told me she desperately tried to give me more marks and asked the librarian to see if they can try and give me more marks but she couldn't get me higher than a B because I misunderstood the question. So yeah, for this task I came second. Cried myself to sleep (as usual) because the lowest I've ever gotten for Modern was an 18/20 and my teacher was kinda scared that I was gonna break down when she told me my mark and rank (which I did anyway) because I've been firmly ranked 1st throughout Year 11 and 12. But my cumulative rank is still first. But even then, I'm screwed ;-;

Anyway, PIP update: my SAC teachers are still roasting my first chapter but they said chapters two and three are better. They haven't commented anything on Chapter three but there's a few comments on chapter 2. I need to fix up chapter one and start my appendix. I also need to fix my annotated bibliography for my secondary sources. To be honest, I hate writing annotated bibliographies lmao.

History Extension Major Work update: I finished my synopsis and changed the draft a number of times. I've started writing my introduction for my essay and boyyyy it's like 200 words and I haven't finished my introduction lmao. I was reading some exemplar essays and I don't understand a thing- I'm not sure if I'm just dumb or these HTA winners are doing the classic 'go to thesaurus and choose some smart sounding words.'

Anyway, I'll be going to the HTA HSC Study Day so I'm excited to see Bruce Dennett again!

See you soon!
