TSFX would be the hardest.

Of course, you're speaking in terms of mere mortals like us.  For you, TSFX exams are like a walk in the park (sorry for using that cliche, couldn't think of a better idiom at this time).  :P

I was in a lecture and was told by Irena, the lady that runs TSFX, that the VCE 2007 Methods exam was really easy and hence it is not a good indicator of how hard the Methods paper usually is.

In addition, because it is the last year of the normal Methods course, I've heard from a teacher that the Methods exam this year shouldn't be too difficult.

man, Irena fed you a load of crap. The methods exam in 07 was known to be one of the hardest exams. I don't think methods 09 will be easy, as last years exam was the easiest, so they're bound to make it hard.

Or was it 2006 or 2005?  I remember distinctively it was the year that enwiabe did Methods.  What year was that?

do any of the practise exams by companies turn out to be HARDER than the actual exam. That is, pretend company X's is so hard, that if im able to udnerstand how to do it, and do well, I should blitz the exam no worries.

07 was probably the hardest (in the new study design). But with 06, it was immensely competitive just like our mid-year physics exam

Not necessarily, even being able to do the hardest maths questions won't guarantee you a blitz on the easiest maths exam.

is it better with the really hard practice exams to just work through them not working to time so you can kinda understand it better?

Maybe, if you have just begun practice exams, but you really have to try and finish at least 15 minutes before the exam finishes. (maybe not for some of the maths gods on this website :P)

Yeah, thats fine, most of the tsfx exams tend to be weird anyway.

maybe its just me, because i infact enjoy the tsfx exams. yeh they're challenging, but they provide you with much more 'indepth' questions.
my recommendation is to do a tsfx exam, and then move onto a mav or heffernan exam (these exams i find quite easy). i guarantee if you learn from your mistakes in the tsfx exam, you should see a marked improvement in the other exams.

however this is my opinion. it wont work for everyone, but it wouldnt hurt to give it a try.
im sure you guyz have attempted this though.
enough said.

MAV is doable; TSFX is just insane. Don't even attempt it, it will lower your confidence.

My theory is that they deliberately make it that hard so that people panic and then attend their lecture sessions. They are so devious and cunning. :P
