Hi all, was just wondering what exam score I’d need to score above 45 in chem for sacs I am rank one in unit three with an average of 91% and rank two for unit four with an average of 92%. The cohort is fairly mixed - top few will probably do really well but the bottom don’t really care and are just doing the subject for prerequisites so won’t do so well

Have you tried looking at the Grade Distributions for the VCAA exams of the past few years? A 45 would require a mid A+ in all sections (Unit 3 SAC, Unit 4 SAC, Exam), as far as I know haha. The following were the lowest scores required for an A+ (a lot A+) on the exam:
2016: 99/120
2015: 105/120
2014: 100/120
2013: 102/120

So for a mid A+, it would've been slightly higher than the above scores.
VCE: (click the links below to view my guides)
2016: Methods [44], Psych [48]
2017: Bio [50], Eng Lang, Chem, Spec
ATAR: 99.75 | UMAT: 88th
2018-2022: Bachelor of Medical Science/Doctor of Medicine @ Monash University

I'd be aiming to lose less than 10-12 marks on an easy/moderate exam, can lose more on a hard exam e.g. 2016
