SAC marks vs Exam Mark

I know there's heaps of posts like this but I just need to ask...
All year in busman I've been on an A or A+ average, and I'm pretty sure I'm ranked at LEAST top 5 in the cohort (our teachers don't tell us our ranks like I know some others do)..
So how much do my SAC scores really matter? I've had lectures tell me they mean little and it's really the exam score that matters, but my teachers always stress how important SAC scores are? I know the exam counts for heaps because your exam score like scales the SAC marks or something, but I guess I'm just looking for an opinion of someone who's graduated... maybe who did well in SACs and not too well on the exam?? Really curious to see what's happened in the past

Thanks!

Essentially your SAC ranking determines the SAC coursework score you obtain for your final combination of marks (used to rank and calculate study score).

If you are ranked 5th in SACs, you will inherit the 5th highest exam score as your coursework score. The coursework scores are moderated by VCAA by using the exam results, this ensures that schools with harder SACs but strong exam results are not disadvantaged. Then, for business management this moderated SAC score with make up 50% of your overall score, used to rank you for the study score (in combination with your personal exam score).

This is only my very basic understanding, hope I helped! As a very rough guide if you smash your exam and are in the top ~20% of your cohort going into it (SAC ranking) ,you should be a good shot for a 40+

Sweet!! I hate how none of this is explained to us (probably because it's really hard  to understand) but like half the state are going into exams with no idea where they stand or how they will go! :/ Gotta wait till December I guess.... thanks for the response!
