Business Study Score (40+)

After quite a bit of time wrapping my head around the study score system, I am hopefully I could snatch a 40+ in Business this year. Any help would be appreciated.

Unit 3 Avg = 86% (Mid A?)
Unit 4 Avg = 95.5% (Assuming A+)
Practice Exam score = 95% (A+?)
Cohort - A strong half a dozen at the top, with a mid to low average across the board (approx. 60% in SAC's + practice exam). I am ranked 4th in my class (assuming 4th-8th in cohort of about 60)

40+ is very, very attainable. With a good exam score, 45+ is also very possible (strong emphasis on the '+'). That being said, don't be complacent and make sure you work hard over these coming days to maximise your study score.

Thanks for the response Sam...can't help but notice you got a 50, well done! How did you perform on your exam & were you ranked 1 going into it? Thanks again.

I was ranked 2nd in my cohort (by 0.5 of a mark :/), but to be honest, so long as your rank isn't awful it's not a big deal. For example, rank 1 in my cohort go a 47 but a student who was outside the top 5 got a 48, so don't stress over your rank, especially not now that SACs are over. As for my exam performance, I'm not exactly sure what I got as an exam score but I imagine it was something like 63/65 or 62/65.

hey! just a question, how did you manage to get 44 in legal studies , thats my aim for this year. I'm rank 1 in a strong cohort of 30 students only, would i manage to get 45? My teacher is a really really harsh marker because she's an examiner so my sac scores havn't been as high ( Unit 3: 86/100 and Unit4 : 83/100)

Rank 1 is important. Not necessarily your SAC scores. If your cohort perform well in the exam, your SAC scores will be moderated and scaled up. So smash the exam and you will be in the box seat!

Short answer - yes. Being rank 1 in a strong cohort and with an examiner as a teacher places you in a very strong position. I would say aim higher, don't limit yourself to 45 (although it's still a very good score). I'm hesitant to tell you how I got my score because based on your ranking and the information you've told me it seems you have everything under control. In short, I memorised the content (Meghan Blake's CPAP textbook is really good for this), got examples for key parts of the course, made sure I knew task/trigger/key words (e.g. compare, discuss, analyse, distinguish etc.), did a bunch of practise exams and more importantly, I marked those practise exams thoroughly (not just a numeric mark but detailed comments on what I did wrong and how I can improve). Best of luck for your exam.
