What is the grievance procedure?

I'll explain the 5 steps that make up the procedure  as basic as I can.
The first step is when an employee is not happy so they take their problem to the employer, the second step is when the employee is still not happy so along with the shop steward they take their issue to the employer. Thirdly if the problem still isn't solved human resources manager will step in. Fourthly if the issue is still there it will go to the Fair Work commission then from there the last step is arbitration.

A grievance procedure is a type of dispute resolution (think mediation, arbitration), that is an internal and systematic process used to resolve disputes that occur within the workplace. Generally, it involves a complaint moving from layers of management, in order to be resolved. If a resolution cannot be achieved internally, then it is usually sent to external parties, through means such as mediation and arbitration. :)
