Lol I rushed through section B and barely finished  :P
Not sure about how I answered this question, I didn't go into too much detail about technology itself. My first points talked about the advantages of technology and automation. Second points spoke about disadvantages of technology such as lack of human involvement. But then my third paragraph I spoke about training as another means for improving effectiveness, productivity and competitiveness, where I also used Henry Ford deciding to re-train his employees to create the assembly line.

Thoughts??

I talked about productivity, effectiveness, and competitiveness being improved by technology, providing examples, then about other strategies/processes that could meet those criteria as well, then presented the final statement that though technology advancement is significant in improving those criteria, other areas outside of technology(provided the examples I used earlier) could also help improve productivity, effectiveness, and competitiveness

not going to lie, that exam was not that bad, yes i understand some questions required alot of thinking and writting, but they were self explanatory and would get to the point quickly,

the 10 mark question seems to be a big fuss to some people, but once again, i didnt find it that bad as it required us to talk about how technology advancement leads to things such as competitiveness efficiency etc, which i managed to write like an essay, so it filled up both pages, which is always a good thing considering that in the 10 marker Examiners also look at how much is written (well at least what i know of!)

I did manage to forget to answer one question, worth 3 marks, and i have major regrets, but i simply ran out of time, so either way i would have not come to finish it anyways, some members of my cohort did not finish the exam either, and two of them decided to go to sleep!
The lean management question was something i was not prepared for as i didnt come across much of it during practise papers, but i bullsh*tted my way through it and managed to complete it, ahaha

hope you all went well too!
+1 Lean management.

The sources I used this year, I never came across specific 'principles' rather that its an overall approach, some techniques to achieve it and what it aims to address.

Thats exactly my case, the depth of the questions about Lean management was something i was not prepared for but was with an overall approach of Lean management i was!

Did anyone else think a large portion of the exam was dedicated to lean management/environmental sustainability? I feel like most of what I studied was hardly on it which was annoying considering I thought I'd be able to bs lean management stuff a lot better than I did :-\

Hey! I found the examination quite fair; it was accessible to everyone I believe. The ten marker was very broad; was not expecting VCAA to go down that route.. Also I'm slightly annoyed there was no emphasis on mentioning contemporary case studies??! (bye QANTAS facts lol); but all in all, I'm happy with how I went. Hope you all smashed it!

is this on that car cleaning/ servicing business run by Aaron? if so, yes it based on the on or off the job training where you had to pick one and justify why it will be the most suitable!

Very interesting, I certainly agree with what everyone is saying about that 10 mark question, really took me by surprise a bit too. It sounds like I addressed it in a slightly unique way and who knows how they will mark it but I'm guessing they kept it pretty broad for a reason. I did find myself rushing a bit towards the end too, might have been nice to get one more paragraph on that 10 marker and one odd 3 mark question, but sounds like I'm not the only one! Hope you all smashed it and good luck with any upcoming exams!

I would probably agree with you on this one, except for the 10 marker.

that's a fair point, but because it's the first year of the study design our teacher is convinced that they'll take that into account when marking so I guess we'll see how it all unfolds!

The exam scores dont matter either way, they're just used to rank students and thus give grades. Even if this year's paper has a lower average than previous years, that just means the cuttoff score for a particular grade is reduced. The assessors don't 'do' anything just because it was the first year.
