That was a pretty good exam. I quite liked it because there wasn't anything really nasty or surprising. However, some of the multiple choice were spicy and confusing.

I totally agree -- I'm quite happy with the way that exam went. Definitely dropped a few marks here and there, especially the last couple of MC questions

If I wrote section B in pencil though, does that matter?

Shouldn't matter, only concern is when the exams are scanned the pencil may get rubbed off, or not show well.
I'm sure many others did Physics or other exams in pencil

Why is it that people always seem to write with pencil more than pen?

It shouldn't matter as long as the pencil doesn't get smudged on the way to the examiners/assessors marking said paper.

Writing with pen should be a standard now. If your teachers haven't talked enough about it, then I don't know what else would make people write with pencil, apart from desperate circumstances.

Pretty sure people write in pencil incase they make mistakes... erasing pencil is easier than erasing pen ;)

You can simply cross out mistakes. Rubbing away pencil gets grimy, and this is from personal experience.

If you want to write with pencil, I ain't stopping you. It just seems strange that you wouldn't stick to pen.

If they cant read your scanned version, they will just get the original paper, so don't worry. I can guarantee you a lot of people will write in pencil, who does maths in pen? I can understand using pen for theory but not for calculations..

Good God, am I the only one who writes in pen on a regular basis apart from MC questions? XD

I use pencil for diagrams (only) on exams. However, outside exams I use mechanical pencil 90% of the time. Even my methods summary book was mainly written in pencil

I would've liked the exam to be a bit more difficult, but it was ok.
The experiment question was my EPI, so that was nice.

I wonder if physics will be up before chemistry?

I'd laugh hard if that happened.

I did physics last year in pencil and got 43. It doesn’t matter what you write in unless it’s white ink.

Edit: ignoring the butthurt kid below me, there’s essentially no risk in writing in pencil given that it’s atleast 2B lead.

I'd rather be safer than sorry, but each to their own, I suppose.
