Seeing as we have around a week and a half until the test. Could we compile a list to give a general idea of the content we could revise? (Even better if someone who previously took the test could join in).
Mathematics test:
I've heard it's pretty easy and straightforward, a good knowledge of year 9 maths would be sufficient.
Numeracy and science reasoning:
This should be similar to ICAS and similar tests. Many puzzles, problem solving and reasoning compared to the mathematics test which consists of more standard math knowledge. The science is mainly looking at given information and deducing the answer via logical reasoning. Revise by looking at any past papers of similar nature.
Science writing tests:
I don't know too much about this - if we were to write a prac it should be pretty straightforward. Know your prac structure, and more technical terms such as the variables. Make sure you really get in depth with the discussion (quick Google searches should return key questions you should aim to answer). To practice, I guess just try writing sample prac reports. For the more intuitive writing test, good ways to prepare for this include revising essay structure and writing tips (not too necessary), reading more about current science events and look how journalists write their articles.
In general:
Year 9 math knowledge
Year 9 & 10 science knowledge - know how to apply this knowledge in new and unfamiliar situations too.
Adopt a 'scientific mindset'.
