Sign language...in Eng lang?

Hey guys!

My school offers Eng lang and I heard that we do sign language. Is this the same for everyone doing Eng language?
Also how long are the VCE exams in eng language?
Comparing to English for those who have done both eng lang and English, which one do you prefer, why?

For anyone that does this subject could you give a little insight of what you have done this term?

Not too sure, but I didn't do it. Maybe it's because I did Eng Lang in 2014.

I'm assuming you're talking Year 12 Eng Lang. You can check out the exams for English Language here. There are 3 sections in the exam:
Sect A. Short Answer. You get a piece, either spoken or written. You get questions on the piece about the metalanguage and so forth.
Sect B. Analytical Commentary. You get another piece, essentially writing a linguistics-based version of a language analysis. If you've never done one before, don't worry. The teachers generally teach you how to throughout Year 12.
Sect C. Essay. Get some prompts. Choose one. Write on it. Feels a bit like a context piece if you're used to English. You use contemporary linguistic examples that you should be gathering throughout the year and relevant quotes from famous linguists. Good people to begin with are: Kate Burridge, David Crystal and Julian Burnside.

I didn't do normal English, but, of course, preference will be biased. It's usually dependent on the person.
As for insight, I would recommend going to the study design instead. Some things are school-chosen or no longer in the curriculum.
