Nice resolutions

In retrospect, I think enjoying year 12 is often overlooked by a lot of people (particularly if you are aiming for a high ATAR). I definitely fell into the trap of focusing too much on VCE, neglecting the fact that there are a lot of unique opportunities in year 12 and emotional moments that deserve recognition; and taking the time to relish these experiences will not hurt your ATAR, but allow you to acknowledge that the culmination of 13 years of schooling is not a number, but an experience you share with your friends.
I’m not usually one for new year’s resolutions but I might share a few.
- At the risk of sounding terribly cliched, I am determined to stop being unfit, and the gym seems the best way to rectify this unfortunate situation
- Hopefully University can be an opportunity to improve my social skills, so I’m going to make an effort to find friends in all my lectures and tutorials
- I also want to get into some casual sports to I might join a University team and make some more new friends
- Need to find some part time employment as well. So far it has been difficult, but I am confident that with perseverance I will find something
- I enjoyed volunteering through organisations at my school so hopefully I can continue this at University
