Pathway to Pharmacy at Monash?

Hey guys, so I really wanted to do pharmacy at Monash the year but unfortunately i wasn't able to get the ATAR needed to do the course. I have heard however that a pathway does exist, the graduate pathway. Basically, I need to maintain at least a 70% average for a Science course and apply. But I was wondering how tough would it be to get in? Has anyone done this before? If so, any advice?

Hey! I'm actually at the same faculty as pharm doing pharmsci (slightly different course to pharm, but I can do the same transfer into pharm (if I wanted to))
Can confirm the existence of the pathway. :)

Going off what I hear on campus, I hear that they cross-check the type of units you have completed to deem whether you can start with this pathway, however as with all graduate entry programs, it is best to get a higher WAM than 70, as entering into the program can be highly competitive. :)

I'm not sure about any advice to give, other than to try to mimic the stuff taught in pharm in science (i.e. physiology, chemistry, pharmacology) :)
2017-2019: Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Formulation Science)
2020: Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours) Read my uni journey here!

Hey Aar0n_101! I'm a Bachelor of Science student who's just finished the course at Monash.

If your ATAR isn't that much lower than the clearly-in (actually you really should be ordering by what you want to study over ATAR you received), I would actually advise that you keep Pharmacy as Preference #1! Clearly-in ATARs are not set in stone and are merely a guide. There are often people who take the course with lower ATARs without even needing to transfer.

If you're adamant about doing the Bachelor of Science --> grad Pharmacy pathway, then I think SlothPomba might be a good person to talk to (although I don't know if they'll answer), but I'm pretty sure I've got a friend or two who want to do the same thing. Insanipi's answered pretty much as much as I know about it, so please see above for additional advice.

Take your pick.
