Victor Lin - Maths Methods (CAS) Summer Intensive Program 2018

Hey everyone!

My name is Victor, and I graduated from Melbourne Grammar School in 2013 with a perfect ATAR of 99.95. I completed Maths Methods (CAS) in 2012 with a raw study score of 50 and a Premier’s Award in the subject. I am currently studying a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne, having completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine as a Chancellor’s Scholar with First Class Honours in 2016.

In January, I will be running a summer intensive program for students studying Maths Methods (CAS) in 2018, with the intent of offering some unique insights into some of the major topics that students will encounter over the course of the year.

Details

I will be running 2 iterations of the program:
  • Tuesday, 16 January 2018
  • Thursday, 18 January 2018

The program will run for the entire day from 9.00 AM to 5.30 PM at the University of Melbourne, and will cover the entire Maths Methods (CAS) syllabus, with the exception of probability and statistics. Students will also be provided with a set of supplementary notes, totalling around 50 pages in length, which codifies the concepts that will be introduced during the program. An opportunity will also be given at the end of the day for students to ask individual questions.

Please find below a copy of the schedule for the day.

Due to room capacity and to ensure that each student is able to derive maximum value out of the program, each iteration of the program will be capped at around 10 students.

To give you a better sense of the learning objectives for the day, I have attached below a set of preparatory questions, which were written to guide any revision or pre-reading students were looking to do before the summer intensive program.

Credentials

I have been tutoring Maths Methods (CAS) and Specialist Maths for more than 5 years, with multiple students achieving raw study scores of 45+ and four students achieving ATARs of 99.90+. Some of my past students include Dux of Korowa Anglican Girls’ School (2016), Dux of Melbourne Grammar School (2015), Dux of Melbourne High School (2015), and Dux of Essendon Keilor College (2015).

If you have any queries about the summer intensive program, do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected], or post in the thread below, and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful festive season!
