Does anybody know how to answer this question?

"Outline a typical area of management that would suit most businesses. Include at least four management functions."

What does it mean by "four management functions"?

I believe in the old study design, 'management responsibilities' were referred to as 'management functions.' So the question is really just asking you to outline four management responsibilities (eg human resources, operations, sales and marketing etc).
