Biology experiment question

Hey Guys,
I had a question on my Bio SAC today and it asked me to "design an experiment". What does this mean, as my teacher did not cover this in class. Thank you.

Can you please  clarify what ' design an experiment' means?

Do you need to draw a diagram and label it? Or a step by step process of an experiment from setting up to  writing up the prac report?

In these questions you should gove a brief overview of a suitable ptocedure. Your response should have:
- a suitable sample size
- a control and experimental group
- controlled variables
- reduction of the impact of random error by repetition of the procedure
