Are withdrawals detrimental for entry into post-grad med?

Hello everyone, is a 'Withdrawal without fail' record in transcripts detrimental for entry into post-grad med courses such as MD in melb or any other post-grad med course elsewhere? The census date for a particular subject of mine was yesterday, however I only had access to an internet service today, hence dropping my subject a day after the census date.

Thank you.  :)

W/F doesn't affect your chances of getting into Med school (Unimelb only takes your GPA into account, and universities in Australia mainly care about your WAM/GPA as far as grades are concerned). For what it is worth, I have a few withdrawals without fails/late withdrawals (without financial penalty though as a result of personal circumstances), and plan on applying for graduate medicine as well as a few overseas masters (they require a transcript but I am given the chance to explain my circumstances), so I'm not too concerned myself. There has been people who were admitted to med school and prestigious post-grad programs who have dropped out of their first degree/failed a few subjects.

Just wondering, other than having it written on your transcript as being withdrawn, are there any penalties to your wam etc.?

No, as long as you withdraw before the withdraw without fail date (which tend to be 2-3 weeks before exams).
