Hey there,
Welcome to AN! Like you said, everyone has different study techniques. I would spend most of my time after school doing math homework and for the remaining time I would do other homework or do something for my Major Work. On the weekends, I would finish any extra homework and write up my study notes. I take breaks in between but I don't usually time myself because I've gotten used to knowing when to go back to work.

Other study techniques you can try is the Pomodoro technique, where you do 25 minutes of study and a 5 minute break. Generally, this technique is good for people who have really short attention spans. Personally, I prefer doing 50 minutes of study and a 10 minute break (when I followed the Pomodoro technique) because most of my work takes up a lot of time and 25 minutes isn't enough for that- plus, it almost mimics the structure of my lessons at school.

One thing you should avoid is doing a full on study session. It's exhausting and you burn out quicker. Or, if you plan to do a long study session (maybe an hour), at least change up the subjects. For example, math is the most time consuming subject so when I finish my math homework, I go straight to my Humanities subjects to take my mind off math- it allows you to get a fresh start so if you're ever stuck on a question in your previous subject, you can go back and try again with a fresher mind.

Hope this helps!

This is my study afternoon routine (obviously this varies according to different people):
- I complete all of my homework first and foremost
- Then I add notes to my study notes (concise and making sure I'm taking in + engaging with the content)
- If I have time after this I might do some stuff for either of my majors
- Then if I get all this done I might try and knock out a practice response (usually for one of my histories) and hand that in the next day for marking!

Obviously I take breaks and I never usually get all of this done in a night. But this is generally what I'm doing. Hope this helps  :)
