Shoe Horn Sonta: Friendship as a theme techniques?

Hey Everyone!

I'm writing a practise essay for "The Shoe Horn Sonata" and one of the themes I am writing about is friendship.

The only problem is, I am having a hard time finding distinctively visual techniques that show friendship in the play.

Thank you for any help!

I'm doing the same module and text as you  :)

I don't have my notes out at the moment but the scenes with Bridie and Sheila basically dominate the play. When talking about the theme of friendship in Shoehorn Sonata, is it also possible to explore their positive relationships with other people in the story? I think so (double check with teacher), so keep this in mind. Also, you could possibly look at the negative side of friendship where friends drift apart and stumble over hurdles together (happens to the 2 women a lot) so consider this too! This obviously doesn't perfectly fall under friendship but it stems from it and could be another theme to explore.

How are you liking the module so far? Oh, and what's your related text? Mine is a poem  ;)

Hey dcesaona!

Thanks for the tips! I reckon this module is alright, but I've enjoyed doing Module C more  :P

I'm doing a poem too! Beach Burial by Kenneth Slessor, It works really well with Shoe Horn, you should look into it!
