Hey guys, let's bring some life back into this thread, shall we?
It seems like it's been quite stagnant for a while now.
Why don't we start by discussing our ATAR goals and how we may achieve them?
I plan on doing these 6 subjects:
- Algorithmics (HESS)
- Chemistry
- English Languge
- Maths Methods
- Specialist Maths
- Physics
I'm somewhat realistically aiming to achieve ~40 Raw in all of them.
Though, I think that Physics could be in the mid-late 40s and so could methods. The rest is likely a ~40.
English is my downfall so I think that realistically I could expect a 35 raw and similarly for Spesh if not slightly higher.
Goal ATAR: 98<
I know that this is quite ambitious, but if you aim high and miss, you'll still be higher than if you'd aimed lower!
I hope others share their thoughts and goals!
I will happily reply! My VCE plan is not complete yet, but this is roughly what I think I will do:
1. English/English Language
2. Math Methods
2. Specialist Maths
3. Chinese SL
4. Physics
5. University Mathematics
I would also love to do EI or Algorithmics, but unfortunately the logistics of doing more than 6 subjects seems unfavourable...
For ATAR in general, I have the soft goal of 99, which is unrealistic but what I would love to achieve. My minimal goal would be 95.
I'm not sure what my goals for the individual subjects are: probably a scaled 40 and or above for most of them. I have picked the subjects I both achieve highly in and enjoy, and place my biggest hopes on methods (soft goal of 48?) and University Mathematics. I probably won't do too bad on my English subject as I've achieved consistent high grades for year 9 so far, let's hope
As for how I would achieve them, I think I would need to first experience the workload of a 3/4 subject before I truly know how I would cope with VCE. As of now, in subjects such as English and Methods I have tried completing practice exams and sacs under timed conditions. The future still seems quite far away!
