Taking Specialist Maths without a unit?

Hi everyone,

I'm in Year Ten this year and need to pick my subjects over the next month. At my school we have to tag a subject in year 11 and therefore I was wondering if it is possible to skip one unit of Specialist maths? (I am unable to tag any of my other subjects: English, French, Bio 3/4, Chemistry and Methods) I am strong in maths and I do enjoy it, however, I am aware that Specialist could be a big step up.

Also, if it is possible, would it be better to skip Unit 1 or Unit 2? How much work would be necessary to catch up?

Thanks for all your help,

depends on the school since the contents of spec 1/2 differs dramatically between schools. It's possible to do spec 3/4 without 1/2 altogether because realistically methods 1/2 + parts of methods 3/4 are the real precursors to specialist.
