Restart course?

Hey everyone,
I wanted to ask if it’s possible to restart my bachelor’s course? I’m in 2nd year and my grades have not been good. I could have done much much better but it was my fault that I didn’t study. I have always been a top student at school and got a 95+ atar, but I don’t know what happened to me in uni, I just completely slacked off and I’m so very stressed. In case you’re wondering, I’m doing Biomed and want to get into either med, dentistry or optometry, but my grades will stop me from getting into any. Please, if you can help me in any way I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you

From ask.unimelb website, it says:

If you have previously withdrawn before completing a course at the University, you can choose to reapply for that course. Re-selection into your course is not guaranteed. Selection is based upon academic merit, taking into account:

previous performance when you were last enrolled in the course
all study undertaken since your last enrolment in the course
the amount of time that has elapsed since your last enrolment.

How do I apply for re-admission?
Applying for re-admission is the same process as applying for a new course.

It seems like the only way is to withdraw from your course (?), and reapply? Not too sure, but all i could find :)

One of my mates was in a similar situation to yours, however his approach involved pullling out of the course altogether (he completed a year) and took two years off to travel and work. Then once his mind was right and the motivation was there, he tried to enrol again (Bachelor of Commerce at Uni Melb) and wasn't offered a position. So instead he went to Monash, did one semester in a Bachelor of Business and then transferred across. When applying for jobs, he just didn't mention his previous results and there was no issue, it was like he had never done a year of getting P's.
