E4?

My Ext2 class has 4 people and most of our averages are concentrated around the 80s (I go to a ~130 ranked school).

My teacher keeps saying that unless we get over 90% in the Trial none of us will get an E4? Is this true? (at the moment I'm 1st and my average is 90%)

That's not true - literally the entirety of your HSC mark depends on your performance (half of it is based on internal but it's not directly taken from your assessment mark as they need to account for schools who mark harsher etc). As long as you maintain your internal rank after trials and do well externally, you'll be fine. So essentially, if you're first, you end up being entirely self reliant which is why you need to ensure you ace your actual HSC so that you aren't dragged down by people in the 80s and the like.
