Identifying logical fallacies in persuasive writing analysis

Do you think it is a good idea to identify certain persuasive techniques as logical fallacies in SACs?

For example, rather than referring to a slippery slope argument or an ad hominem attack in an article as a persuasive technique, you identify them as that and as a logical fallacy.
