Hi there!

In an ideal world i would love a 40 in methods. I am a pretty good student, i know the content well and have performed well in SACs. Our schools SACs are quite challenging ( i know as i have complete Nossal, John Monash and Haileybury methods SACs and they were much easier) I ahve gotten H, Vh and Vh in the SACs for Mehtods this year. I was probably 3rd highest in the cohort this year.

When doing practice exams i average about 82-85% for both parts. However some of the practice exams are from like 2012, 2013, etc. so there is course material on them which isnt in the current design so that leads to lower % in my average.

I want to know how much i need to boost this in order to get a 40?

Thank yoyu for your help!

depends on the year so no one knows exactly what scores are required for a 40 but a good average estimate imo would be exam1: 36/40 and exam 2: 67/80.

But these values will fluctuate a bit, especially exam 2 which could really range between 60-70/80. Exam 1 will be consistently be between 34-37/40.
Also, if you do better on one exam you can afford to maybe do worse on the other exam.

Thank you for your insight!

I would say im better at exam 2 only because I can make algebratic errors by hand easily when im not focused.

So if i just maintain my exam 1 level and push my exam 2 as much as i can i should be ok.
Obviously its no guarentee but we can dream right? ahahaha

thank you again!

You can find out using the Graded Assessment, and a page that determines the % for each study score; you can find both by looking it up. For a 40 raw, you're looking at getting 85% on both exams (80% if you did pretty good on your SACs, like Bs and As). The great thing is that this is very achievable; for a lot of subjects you're looking at getting 80s to 90s to get 40 with scaling.
