Hey guys,
So a lot of personal stuff has affected me this yr and in effect, my year 12, and i am going to have to repeat yr 12 next yr :(  .I will be 19 next yr and am aiming for undergrad medicine. Ive been recommended to do my year 12 next yr at TAFE at RMIT or another similar institute. What im wondering is: what is it like doing vce at tafe? are the teachers any good? how many hrs will i be sitting a week if im doing 5 vce subjects? what standard are the sacs at? and how hard is it to get a good ATAR/ how many people have u heard leaving TAFE with a really high atar. I'm based in melbourne, go to a selective school and am aiming for a 98+ atar at the very least (rip xd)
if anyone has had first hand experience at yr 12 vce TAFE, ur advice would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance guys !!
:) :) :) :)

also will i be looked at with bias when universities are taking my course applications into consideration by completeing yr 12 at tafe?

Sorry to hear that things haven't quite gone as planned.

I'm not great at the other questions, but I'm sure someone like Calebark who did their VCE over 3 years might be able to help here better than I can. I'm sure they wouldn't mind a PM or two either if the situation's a bit more personal. (I'm not sure of many people on the forums doing their Year 12 at TAFE.)

I'm just going to answer this final question in this quote above. AFAIK, this shouldn't affect your application via VTAC (the body of people who help you get from high school to uni in VIC), but also take into consideration that the entry for undergrad medicine is pretty competitive. (This is not to discourage you, but just an obligatory warning I have to put here.) Things like UCAT (previously UMAT) and interviews will likely need to be taken again as they're typically valid for only a year (please correct me if I'm wrong), however, VTAC usually doesn't really mind if you're a mature age student heading into any tertiary course and so forth, even if it's a repeat VCE student. I'm not 100% sure about this so please ring VTAC to double check this information.

So sorry I'm not useful in this situation, but hope that helps.
