Looking for a VCE English Yr 12 tutor in Southeastern suburbs. If anyone knows any tutors or is tutoring english currently please pm me with details. I'm looking for a tutor that is knowledgeable, one that is willing to learn my texts and someone who has achieved 40+ study score in english. Please help me out as I am in need of one.

Have you looked at the Monash University site - there is a page for tutoring requests from students or their parents looking for tutors across different year levels.  I think the rates are listed there too - can't recall all the details as it's a long time since I last looked at it.

Have you found a tutor yet? We offer a one-to-one home tutoring service in the Eastern suburbs - so depending on whereabouts you are, we may be able to come to you!

My advice for students when looking for tutors is to find one who is able to work with what you've got, rather than give you all the notes and quotes. We find that students struggle with essays because they can't express their ideas fully and clearly, not because they lack ideas or an understanding of their text. Remember that English is not about the content, it's about the expression of your interpretation of content. So just finding someone who has a good ATAR and has all the quotes for your texts isn't going to help you all that much, if they can't help you with clearing up your expression and expanding on your ideas. When you do find a tutor, ask them in the first session exactly what they will help you with. Any decent tutor should be able to look at your work, identify areas of weakness, and formulate a strategy for strengthening those areas.
