nah just do calc 2 and LA in your first yr, then if you fail you can do QM1 in sem 1 next yr and Introductory Econometrics in sem 2 next yr

So far for my first year subjects I have (Accounting and Finance major with accreditation):
Semester 1
306-107       Accounting Reports and Analysis
316-102       Introductory Microeconomics
316-130       Quantitative Methods 1
732-103       Principles of Business Law
Semester 2
306-106       Business Process Analysis
306-108       Accounting Transactions and Analysis
316-101       Introductory Macroeconomics
800-116       Generating the Wealth of Nations (apparently this is a semester 2 only subject)

Any suggestions? Should I put some finance subjects in there, or just leave the accounting ones for first year? Also, in the sample Accounting/Finance major + accreditation timetable in the booklet we got, it has breadth level 1 in first semester free and business law in second semester, is it possible and wise to do it the way I have (having business law first)?

(1) yes (2) doesnt matter

Also consider this for your breadth: https://app.portal.unimelb.edu.au/CSCApplication/view/2009/800-101

Thanks Brendan, any other suggestions for my first year subjects or are they basically what every other accounting+finance major do?

My subjects for first years would be this:

Semester 1
306-107       Accounting Reports and Analysis
316-102       Introductory Microeconomics
620-155       Calculus 2
732-103       Principles of Business Law
Semester 2
306-106       Business Process Analysis
306-108       Accounting Transactions and Analysis
316-101       Introductory Macroeconomics

Look good to you, Brendan? Gone around so many days, and I think it's the same subjects you advised me first time round. :)

Nice this is exactly the same as what I have currently. And yeah, I am confused about where to put Business Law. At my course advice appointment today, the guy said that Business Law must be taken in 2nd semester and that I should take Generating Wealth in 1st semester.

Then when I went home to check I found out that Generating Wealth is actually only available in second semester, and Business Law is available in both semesters 1 and 2. So yeah, I'm a little confused too.

In terms of majoring in Accounting and Finance, you don't need any Finance subjects there in first year so yeah you just miss out on Finance 1 which apparently helps with Business Finance(oh well). So yeah leave the accounting subjects there.

I did both, and I don't think it helps all that much.

Yep, I will try my best to keep up the grades.

Spesh mark was a 34. I really thought I could have got a 38. :(
