graphics calculator help

hey guys,

my calculator always stops graphing the function when its next to the asymptote. i.e. it only draws the section where its not in proximity to the asymptote. this makes it hard for me to trace the function and work out intercepts because the line is not graphed where i want it to be graphed.

anyone know how to fix this? i have a ti-84 plus.

This happens on the TI-89 as well, I don't think there's a way to fix it, I think it's because the graph converges on the asymptote really fast so it almost seems like it is part of the asymptote. A good idea is to actually put in the equation of the asymptote, sketch it, and then trace the graph on paper towards the asymptote.

lol I guess you'd just have to visualize that yourself :P

lol I guess you'd just have to visualize that yourself :P

or even better, put in y=3, graph it, then 2nd; draw; DrawInv  ;)
