yeh i sat there calculating 50 x 9.8.....



I did it like:

=50*9.8
=50(9 + .8)
=50(9 + 4/5)
=50*9 + (4/5)*50
=450 + 40
=490

But I think you would lose a mark considering the explicit 'to the nearest newton'.


no i did write 490 N...i was just slightly wary as i didnt think u needed to calculate 50 x 9.8

Yes you needed to compute g.

I did it by halving 9.8 and multiplying by 100
