25 study score for methods... what do i need to get?

hey guys
i picked methods purely because of my course (in yr 12)
it requires methods study score of 25
i have 2 questions
1. does this mean a scaled score of 25 or raw score of 25 (uni melb)
2. what scores do i have to get to get me a 25 in methods

i've gotten E+ on both sacs (i passed) and since it was pretty hard for the cohort this year you only needed 8/124 marks
(kids last year who got an exact 25 told me their sac scores got scaled up when they found out about their study score btw)

Universities go off your raw study score for prerequisites.

I would expect around 70-80% would be a good range if you're going for 25, although I am not sure as there are other factors.
As far as I'm aware scaling only affects your ATAR.
2018: Psychology
2019: English, Methods, Chemistry, Biology, Physics
ATAR: 88.65

Hello  aziz,

(kids last year who got an exact 25 told me their sac scores got scaled up when they found out about their study score btw)

It doesnt work this way. They probably have misunderstood how the scaling and sacs work and contribute towards the study score. I wont explain how it works now, but if u want to know pls ask again. (there is also plenty of other atarnotes posts that shows how the sacs works). Secondly to get a SS of 25 considering ur grades i would expect ur ranking in your cohort to be pretty bad. (ranking in your cohort is what actually matters not the actual grade). For the exam mark, i would expect you need at least a C+ which is around 32.5 - 39 out of 80 according to the 2017 exam results. Since you have weak sac marks, i would suggest for you to get at least this or a bit higher to be safe.  Pls reply if you have any more questions

Thank you

Hey aziz, welcome to ATAR Notes!

1. Raw. :)
2. Really difficult to say because, as above, raw SAC marks don't mean heaps in isolation (there are many other factors at play). If you can, I'd try to put it out of your mind as much as possible, and focus on things you have control over. For example, how you can improve your SAC scores, how you can study more efficiently - stuff like that!

hi thank you for your response
are you saying i should be aiming for at least C+ and more in both of the exams just to suffice the 25 raw study score
