Alright, I'm a current year 10 in Melbourne High and I can safely say that the school does not care about your academic records, if ur getting pd, u want to generally talk about ur achievements outside of the curriculum, for example, 2nd in Volleyball Championship etc. Talk about wanting to get integrated into the school's variety of clubs, sports and uniform groups. I would recommend saying how you feel extremely passionate about wanting to join Cadets or Rowing as these 2 are generally more popular and offer a good amount of what they call the "Melbourne High Experience" since you get to know and bond with many others. (Btw cadets is very fun in year 9, definitely recommended). Any leadership experience would also help a lot, try not to appear too nervous, maintain good eye contact and make use of hand gestures, good luck

They told me i was 5 marks away from getting a first round offer from the last student (not the 5% Rule) and they told me this morning

I think for your PD maybe include extracurricular things instead of actual grades bc they already have 300 smart kids so you'll need to show something else to them that'll be different

I was wondering if any of you know if you are able to get a second round offer while also having a PD, like for MGHS, for example, if you are applying for a PD currently (I am) is it possible to also get a second round offer? Or are second round offers for other people all together?

Yeah even if you send in the letter, they'll send you an offer if you get a spot so there's no harm in applying for a pd!

If your school reached the 5% rule (majority boys going to MHS) is it only possible to get a second round offer if someone from your same school rejects an offer to the school you want to go to, or can it be other people outside the school (I got a PD for MacRob very early Friday morning, first from my school).
