Hey guys,
Is there any possibility that someone could go over my NORMAN paragraph and give some feedback.
Much Appreciated

Significant language change was established as a consequence of the Norman invasion. The influx of around 10000 French words had a dramatic impact on English, one being the creation of a system of stylistic levels. Native English remained the fundamental everyday vocabulary which is more stylistically neutral; ‘ask’ rather than the French ‘question’ and ‘guts’ rather than ‘courage’. The expressions of refinement and nuance that derived from the Norman's tongue added a semantic levelling to English that enhanced the language. Further to the benefits of semantic levels established during the French occupation, French borrowings dramatically expanded the English vocabulary. As it was the Normans who were in the position of power, they controlled affairs of the State as well as the military. An influx of lexemes relevant to these domains flooded the English language evidenced in borrowings such as ‘attorney ‘parliament’ and ‘jury’ as well as ‘lieutenant’, ‘soldier’ and ‘guard’ all have French origins and reflect the dominance of the French in both State and military. Whilst these language additions were a consequence of foreign occupation and reflect a time of conflict in English’s history, the subsequent changes are not something we should be troubled by, rather they have left us with a richer language.
