Update: 14/12So first up the AN meetup is tomorrow! Who am I seeing there?
With 2020 nearly approaching I thought it would be good to set some goals for the future year! I really don't have a number that I want to achieve for my study scores (except PDT which is set in stone) rather I want to be able to achieve certain subject related goals.
Product Design and Technology: [Aim: 50]
VCAA loves art subjects so much that they think it is super funny for us to work on a 9 month folio and scale us down like wildfire
. Aiming for full marks on folio and as high as I can manage on SACs and the final exam.
The funny thing about this subject though is that there is a lot of Chemistry base knowledge needed to fully understand the materials. (Looking at you recycled polyethylene terephthalate backpacks and polypropylene polymers from 2017 + 2018 PDT exam). A lot of people tried to get me to drop this subject for Specialist Maths so this is pretty much my drive to getting the highest score possible in this subject.
Physics: [Aim: 44+]
If there is one thing I want to do right next year, it is to get every single special relativity and magnetic flux question correct in the end of year exam. My goal for this subject is to truly understand. I would really like a 40+ at least for this subject but really I would like to beat a 44 if I can make it. (My teacher made a bet with my Methods teacher that I would do better in Physics. Let's see who wins
)
English: [Aim: As close to 50 as physically possible]
I really want my essays to have a richer variety of vocabulary starting from now! Really the only thing stopping me right now from achieving this goal is my vocabulary and flow of my essays. I feel like out of all my subjects, this is probably one of the only subjects where I could get high marks in. I would like 100% on all SACs and always finding a new area to improve on after every assessment. Got about 10 months to figure my vocab problem out so hopefully I can become much more proficient in this area.
Methods: [Aim: 41/44+?]
I want to feel confident walking into any assessment that is without a CAS. My thinking is right but my general arithmetic is terrible so the goal is to fix this! I don't have a very specific study score goal for this subject, rather I just want to try my best. Methods is probably one of my favourite subjects for next year, so hopefully I can get some good use out of it.
Chemistry: [Aim: 40+?]
I don't have a defined goal for Chemistry?
I just want to do my very best and see where that goes! On the other hand, Chem is actually really good for PDT as it makes it easier to describe the characteristics of material composition. The more I understand Chem, the easier it will be to get higher marks in the PDT exam so it's a good win/win situation.
Next year I really want to walk out of every SAC/Assessment task and feel like that is the very best I could possibly do. I want to understand my subjects really well while also enjoying the challenge they provide! I would also like to next year make some new friends (AN community help me out here please!) and possibly even make a study group to get different interpretations of our subjects. (If anyone does Methods/Chem/Physics/English and wants to make a study group where we share stuff or ideas you know who to dm)
.
