Not too good with the results :'(
Got a 44 in Further and I'm really disappointed in myself. I have sort of had a mental breakdown for the whole day and eventually went to school to see my teachers (who actually cried with me). I really wanted this subject to be a primary 4 subject (really wanted that 45) but at this rate, it is looking like a 10% sadly. In all honesty, I'm just really upset and hopefully I can move forward and try to get better scores in my other subjects (looking at you PDT and English for 50s :P. I'm not giving up on you two.)
My new goal for 2020 is to try and get all my subjects above Further! I doubt this will happen but it is worth giving it a go!
Hey ashmi,
It's okay to feel disappointed about your SS but I just want to chip in to say that 44 is an amazing SS that you should definitely be proud of!

Thank you so much for your support! I've been an emotional train wreck the whole day and have never felt like so much of a failure. Thank you to those that stick around and comment on this journal every once in a while, you are pretty much the only reason I'm getting through this. (Yes, especially the frequent ones that always reply or like my posts. You know who you are and I love you guys ;D).

I actually moved schools to do PDT as a subject! (Really didn't want to do it as distance ed so here I am now). My goal from last year was to aim for a 50, and today, I have realised I'm not leaving the 2020 school year without it! I really want to get my PDT artwork into Top Designs for 2021, so I'm going to try my best and aim high! I'm also going to try for English too (realistically aiming 45) but you never know what's going to happen.

Thank you so much! Usually takes a few hours (maybe 2 to 5 ish) depending on the type of piece it is! The more detailed ones though just to do the lineart would take a few days! ;D

Congrats for finishing Year 11! I know how it feels to not get a score as well as expected (although 44 is really good to me at least)
Good luck for next year, I definitely know you will smash VCE next year!!!

Congrats on your score in Further Maths. I know it was slightly below your goal, but it's still amazing, and you should be proud of yourself :)
Also, good luck with PDT/English - get that 50! ;D An advantage of doing a 3/4 in Year 11 is being able to try harder in your subjects next year to push a result you aren't happy with into your bottom 2.

Awww, thank you chopsticks! I absolutely adore reading your journal and I can't wait to see some new updates throughout next year! I promise you I will do everything I can to get at least one 50~ (I'm going to make PDT suffer so much the examiners gotta give me that 50). Good luck for Methods and Revs next year! ;D *sending my love*.

Congrats on your Further score Nexica/Nate! That is IMPRESSIVE! Finding it really hard to accept my score (especially when your teacher looks really sad. That hits home :'() so I'm honestly just really down and disappointed in my efforts. You are pretty much right with it being a bottom 2 in the end! That is actually a neat way of looking at it, I always had the mindset of making the Year 11 subject the primary 4. Never actually considered making it a bottom 2 till now. I'm going to need the luck for PDT/English! (Especially English. Please bless me with your 50 luck).

Now it is time for us to suffer through English, Chem, Physics and Methods together! :P (Also, what do you think is your strongest subjects out of the 4 by the way?)

Thank you for the congrats, and you have been blessed with the 50 luck, use it wisely~

Methods is definitely my strongest subject out of the 4. I love the content in it. Good luck with English/Chem/Physics/Meth btw :)

Thank you for your blessing!~ ;D
Why did I have a funny feeling you were going to say Methods? Maths might just run in the Nate family I guess ;) (That feeling when you have permanently changed your CAS settings to radians and exact is so weird)
Good luck with your future subjects! You will do amazing in them! *Sending you some Physics/Chem lucky vibes*

Hi Chocolatemilkshake! (such a cool name 8))
Thank you so much! Glad to see that there are people that enjoy my impulse artworks ;D.
I'm sort of struggling to come to terms with this score and I really don't know what to do or expect for my other subjects. I'm not going to lie, but I am really lost on what I should be aiming for next year. Just really hoping my other subjects can pull through and do better than this year!

(By the way, it is so good to see another KLD 2020 scholar! If there are events in the future we have to meet up sometime! ;D)

Yes, I was actually inspired to put that KLD in my signature by you! Definitely should xx

Let's go KLD Gang of 2020!! 😂
I put mine in my signature just to find other people in the same graduating class, and it seems like it has worked!
Next time when there is an event (going to assume the 3/4 lectures or something earlier) we are definitely meeting up ;D

Update: 14/12

So first up the AN meetup is tomorrow! Who am I seeing there? ;D
With 2020 nearly approaching I thought it would be good to set some goals for the future year! I really don't have a number that I want to achieve for my study scores (except PDT which is set in stone) rather I want to be able to achieve certain subject related goals.

Product Design and Technology: [Aim: 50]
VCAA loves art subjects so much that they think it is super funny for us to work on a 9 month folio and scale us down like wildfire ::). Aiming for full marks on folio and as high as I can manage on SACs and the final exam.
The funny thing about this subject though is that there is a lot of Chemistry base knowledge needed to fully understand the materials. (Looking at you recycled polyethylene terephthalate backpacks and polypropylene polymers from 2017 + 2018 PDT exam). A lot of people tried to get me to drop this subject for Specialist Maths so this is pretty much my drive to getting the highest score possible in this subject.

Physics: [Aim: 44+]
If there is one thing I want to do right next year, it is to get every single special relativity and magnetic flux question correct in the end of year exam. My goal for this subject is to truly understand. I would really like a 40+ at least for this subject but really I would like to beat a 44 if I can make it. (My teacher made a bet with my Methods teacher that I would do better in Physics. Let's see who wins 8))

English: [Aim: As close to 50 as physically possible]
I really want my essays to have a richer variety of vocabulary starting from now! Really the only thing stopping me right now from achieving this goal is my vocabulary and flow of my essays. I feel like out of all my subjects, this is probably one of the only subjects where I could get high marks in. I would like 100% on all SACs and always finding a new area to improve on after every assessment. Got about 10 months to figure my vocab problem out so hopefully I can become much more proficient in this area.

Methods: [Aim: 41/44+?]
I want to feel confident walking into any assessment that is without a CAS. My thinking is right but my general arithmetic is terrible so the goal is to fix this! I don't have a very specific study score goal for this subject, rather I just want to try my best. Methods is probably one of my favourite subjects for next year, so hopefully I can get some good use out of it.

Chemistry: [Aim: 40+?]
I don't have a defined goal for Chemistry? :-\ I just want to do my very best and see where that goes! On the other hand, Chem is actually really good for PDT as it makes it easier to describe the characteristics of material composition. The more I understand Chem, the easier it will be to get higher marks in the PDT exam so it's a good win/win situation.

Next year I really want to walk out of every SAC/Assessment task and feel like that is the very best I could possibly do. I want to understand my subjects really well while also enjoying the challenge they provide! I would also like to next year make some new friends (AN community help me out here please!) and possibly even make a study group to get different interpretations of our subjects. (If anyone does Methods/Chem/Physics/English and wants to make a study group where we share stuff or ideas you know who to dm) :D.

I love the approach of not just looking at study score goals but what specifically you want to work on. In regards to English, there used to be a few active vocab threads - maybe you could start one up again?

See you tomorrow :)

Trying a new approach with looking at my subjects for next year hoping that it is going to inspire me to do better rather than cause a whole pack of unnecessary stress. :)
It might actually be a good time to start up a new English thread soon then! It would probably keep me on track and hopefully will improve my writing (and maybe others)  ;D
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Update: 14/12
Ashmi's Artwork Catastrophe update:

I usually don't like having such close journal entries, but I have some really exciting stuff! I finally have gotten my Adobe Lightroom subscription back!! ;D Now that the holy grail application is here, I've been able to do some lighting touch-ups/photo-editing again!

My friend recently just finished Year 12 and she did amazingly in PDT (so proud of her) and here are some pictures that I took for her final folio piece~
My friend made the costume for an end-user (happens to be my other friend) and we were able to take some interesting photos for her folio. I have just gotten back to looking at the other discarded photos (surprisingly they look pretty good now) and lightly edited the massive backlog of photos that have been sitting on my computer for ages.

Model: IG @petite_newbie
Photographer/editor: @ashmicos

Bonus photos: Behind the scenes picture of me setting up to do some photography (yes this is exactly where the inspiration came for my profile picture) ;)
