Separate Notebook and Excercise Book for VCE Science Subjects?

Hey,

I was wondering if having a system of only having notes in one book and only having exercises in another book is effective for Science subjects, specifically, Chemistry and Biology.

P.S: I currently use a separate notebook and exercise book for Maths, which I find effective.

In my opinion, it really depends on how your teacher teaches.
I haven't had separate books for notes and work for science this year, because my chem and physics teachers gives us our notes already printed in booklets which we go through and annotate and fill in while they teach. I think most VCE teachers are the same, because it saves time. I agree with you for maths however, definitely separate books are good. One of my friends had books for notes and work at the start of the year for chem and physics, but her notes ones are practically empty because we only really write notes in the printed booklets in class.
If you want to write your own notes out, definitely use a new fresh notebook though. I started writing notes for bio, chem, and physics, and you'll want them in a separate book if you do that.

For bio, I've been using a book with five sections and I've found it super helpful.

Section One: class notes on powerpoints and what the teacher is saying
Section Two: notes on videos, edrolo and AN lectures
Section Three: notes on each chapter and subchapter of the textbook
Section Four: questions and answers from each chapter and subchapter of the textbook
Section Five: summaries from the "focus questions" our teachers give us for tests, and notes made directly by looking at the study design

I also have a binder for handouts and BioBasics which is full of practice questions, as well as the AN materials.

We were also asked to get a prac book but I've only used mine twice as most of our pracs have been assessed and thus we've had handouts to write them up on.
