What did you guys write about humans would stop being affected by natural selection due to manipulation?

What the hell is up with this exam. You can seriously write an essay on a question like that. It's quite debatable, so I assume as long as you justify your point of view with biological/evolutionary concepts, you'll be fine. However, the view commonly held by textbooks if I recall correctly is that we're no longer subject to natural selection.

how i wish i was doing bio in 2005 or something :P. or 2006. gosh they were easy exams.

this exam was borderline of gay-ness. like at one point i was just gonna scream out 'WTF THIS DOESNT EVEN MAKE SENSE'

idk maybe im wrong. i didnt do unit 1/2 so had no idea abut controls and variables and all that . but varities of plants made sense to me :S

Yeah, I said teh variable was the plant species, and the controlled factor was sunlight.

would temperature be okay to use ? i was gonna use sunlight but then i thoguht that would be pretty hard to control so yeh. idk.

I said height was the independent factor, and sunlight for the other.

Independent variable: plant species.
Factor:  Amount of sunlight each plant is exposed to.

Those were mine.

BY THE WAY IS IT TRUE THAT IT IS OUR RANKING IN THE STATE THAT ACTUALLY MATTERS,    NOT OUR ACTUAL SCORE ?????
if so i still have some hope... .  if others did worse (which is still unlikely)

the independent variable is the thing that someone actively changes;

Score. I said humans were no longer subject to natural selection because by manipulating their environments, they eliminate selection pressures.

But your score gives you your ranking in the state ._."

I think you're confusing this with SAC marks where only your ranking in your cohort matters; not your raw SAC marks.

I said height was the independent factor, and sunlight for the other.

Height is a dependent variable. Easy mistake to make, I guess.
