dependent variable is the one you measure (outcome).
independent is the one you change.

eg; seeing if giving a certain drug (independent) gets a lower blood pressure reading (dependent).

BY THE WAY IS IT TRUE THAT IT IS OUR RANKING IN THE STATE THAT ACTUALLY MATTERS,    NOT OUR ACTUAL SCORE ?????
if so i still have some hope... .  if others did worse (which is still unlikely)

But your score gives you your ranking in the state ._."

I think you're confusing this with SAC marks where only your ranking in your cohort matters; not your raw SAC marks.
i meant like:  if the whole state were to get 0/75 and i got  .5/75  thennnnnnnnnnn id be classified as getting 'full marks"   ?

i think that would be boderline. maybe if u said PH level of the soil ? gives plants more growth.

i think the best control for this would be sunlight because plants grow towards sunlight.

A class who walked out of the examination with a smile, walked out of the examination with a frown today. *sigh*

Correct. Experimental design is a key skill, applicable (and assessable) in both units.

Well yeh, study score is only a reflection of your ranking within the state. Everything in VCE is just to get rankings really. Marks are only there to give things proportions (i.e. 1/3 for each exam and SACs), so what you said is true I guess.

Reading over the last 20 pages covers all the hard questions I guess. If someone posts up the exam, some full solutions might be on the way.
