was postion of the foramen magnum a characteristic for distinguishing erectus and sapiens? i know erectus was also bipedal but it looked as if the FM in the diagrams was more central in sapiens than erectus?

soo what is everyones verdict on a score out of 75 we would have to get to get and A or an A+? last year you had to get a 57/75 to get an A+ it says on the VCAA web site.... would this be right? it seems like alot of marks to beable to lose...but im assuming todays exams we could have lost even more marks and still get an A+! whats everyones opinion...

I est.... 53/75.

I also said finding tools at the Homo habilis site.

Isn't it seriously teaching?
My definition of cultural evolution was always the rapid transfer of KNOWLEDGE that leads to change in a population.
So, if you're transferring the knowledge of how to perform gene therapy (a form of technological evolution) , then isn't that okay?

but how did the gene therapy get there in the first place. i think they were asking for really old time stuff like tool making. maybe mentioning gene therapy mite lose a mark. could be wrong.

I meant tools for part a with the question about what you could find as evidence of cultural evolution.

But the link between technological evolution and cultural evolution was where I mentioned gene therapy.

i was gonna mention that too. the homo sapiens one did look different but i thought that was like danger zone. i didnt wanna take a risk and lose one mark ..so i just used chin in the human and brain size.

They looked the same to me.
I used brain case and a more parabolic jaw in skull set 1.

Ahh that was my point too :). The erectus has a U shaped jaw.

i think that question overall done pretty good.

an A+ would be min 55 . cant be higher than last yr . has to be lower.

I feel this will be less than 57 for an A+ cutoff. Probably a high 40s to low 50s. Poorly-written exam, IMO.

You would think that they might learn from their mistakes, but I wouldn't count on it.
I still expect some form of storm to come and knock me over during the Chem Unit 4 exam after Unit 3.

y.

The fact that the first question was "Describe Binary Fission".
I knew something was going down.
Sure enough, everything that has been stuck to my shower screen for the last few weeks was irrelevant.

It was :(
And I was one mark off an A.
Most disappointing thing of my life.
When I think about the stupid mistake I made to lose that mark :(

Oh well.  I've tried so hard studying for it this time around.  Well I did last time too.  But hopefully I can get an A+ this time, and get an alright score after scaling to get me into Media Com next year!  97.60 ENTER...
