Methods 3/4 without 1/2?

Hello so a mate of mine from another school wants to do methods 3/4 without 1/2.
This was due to the fact that his School does not have room for 1/2 so they have to put him into 3/4 without 1/2.
Is this a good idea? Btw he is average at year 10 math so idk if this idea will work. He is must do methods as a preq for uni so yeah.

It's possible but definitely not ideal - especially as you say that they are average in year 10. I would need more information on their work ethic and how dedicated they will be during the year but I wouldn't think skipping 1/2 for that reason is great.

Would it be possible for your friend to do 3/4 methods in year 12? It could be possible to study 1/2 methods outside of school during year 11 - just via a textbook.

If he's average at math, I probably would not recommend it unless he has a go at doing some 1/2 work over the holidays. 3/4 is like a repeat of 1/2, but goes further into certain topics.

Without doing some 1/2 work in his own time, he might struggle.

Idk I heard the school does not have a place left. Tbh I am quite confused why they have a 3/4 class, but not 1/2. I am assuming its probably lack of resources. I mean I agree with you guys, if his average in easy math he is probably not going to do too well in methods 3/4. Oh boy....idk what to do either. He also told me that he really really really needs/want math methods for uni and all.
