Historically first round is higher than second or third, as they try to curb the number of students they accept. They lower it for second round onwards to catch more students.

For the courses most popular with AN users I think overall in recent years cutoffs have dropped slightly or maintained themselves.

However, I too saw the commerce/computer science ATAR and was surprised at how high it was. Especially considering the single degrees are 8-12 ATAR points below that. I would think they only made a handful of offers for that course which resulted in that cutoff. As AngelWings has said it is likely to drop in subsequent rounds.
