Hi I am Nathan and I graduated from Balwyn High School in 2019 with an ATAR of 99.45 and will be studying medicine at Monash University in 2020. As a recent VCE graduate myself, I have a strong understanding of the current study design for the subjects listed above.

English: I completed VCE English as a year 11 student. Having completed VCE English a year early I have come to realise that success in English requires a thorough understanding of the prominent themes and ideas in each text and what makes a text response/language analysis essay a successful one. I will read all my students text and I endeavour to study them in the same manner in which I studied my very own English texts whilst I was completing VCE English. I also have a large collection of English resources including high scoring essays which will be provided upon request. Moreover, I also believe group tutoring in English can be highly beneficial to students as sharing of ideas and encouraging critical thinking of different interpretations are essential to success in English.

Methods:
The VCE Methods exam is one of the most challenging of all exams, sometimes even more difficult than the specialist maths exam. My tutoring philosophy for Methods is to first ensure my students are able to grasp the fundamentals of each of the three big topics: functions and relation, calculus and probability. In doing so, this will ensure that students develop a deep understanding of each of these topics which will prevent them from being dumbfounded by the separator questions. Notes and practice exams will be provided

Biology:
Biology is a subject which requires a strong understanding of each topic and also the ability to accurately apply key words correctly. My lessons will be focused mainly on teaching students the fundamental concepts in each AOS and going over checkpoint questions to ensure that students are able to develop concise and high scoring responses. Notes will be provided upon request.

I will be tutoring primarily in the eastern suburbs at the Pines, Doncaster, Box Hill, Blackburn and Balwyn libraries. I will also be happy to tutor at different locations but this will be subject to travel distance and time availability

For students who intend to partake in group tutoring, there will be a discount. (2-3 preferably)

I also understand the frustration and annoyance when teachers take years to respond to emails and questions. I endeavour to respond to questions within 24 hours and will also mark essays within that time frame.

I offer a free trial lesson and all subsequent lessons will be $40/hour.

Feel free to contact me for any enquiries. My primary mode of contact is via text or email.
