what i'm thinking of doing is flicking through some of the heinemann text book (we use that too), then go through the A+ notes book (buying one for units 3&4) and doing some of the questions after reading the main concepts & theories.

Oh gosh there's so much to cover... hmmm I guess try to get through analytical chemistry. There's a lot of techniques to master, and most of it is new material. Also try summarise it because otherwise it can go through one ear and out the other.

Goddamn unit 3 going through the textbook itself probably won't make you understand the concepts and will sound like mumbo jumbo in the beginning

If I had my time again I would practice doing mol calculations (which is part of the year 11 course I think) ... trying to get that down in the first few weeks of year 12 was not fun!

For those people who have successfully completed the chem 3/4 course over the holiday. Was it worth it? Did you start school knowing most of the concepts that your teacher taught?

Nah seriously, doing unit 3 chem was a waste of time, not fulfilling at all.

It wasn't difficult, it was cause there were a lot of stuff that required memorising, like reaction pathways etc, so basically what I knew what to do during the holidays, doing exercises etc, but once school started, most of the stuff I've already forgotten, so I needed to revise over and over again to keep remembering - waste of time if you ask me.

Different from maths where I seem to take in the knowledge at first go and never forget.

This is just my personal view on it, many people could find it very useful to do the course during the holidays.

If you're doing well for unit 2 chemistry you should be fine for unit 3.
