What is cultural context?

I understand cultural context with respect to the Australian identity as a whole. I am however struggling to understand cultural context in short answer texts. For example in a text advertising shoes by referring to celebrities who wear these shoes, is the cultural context that celebrities are people that are looked up to that many people try to imitate? Sorry if this is wrong, I'm so confused and I have a sac tomorrow.

Anything to do with beliefs, values or attitudes (according to the study design). Note, these terms are not interchangeable, so a good idea would be to find the definition and ensure you understand the difference between the three.

So, yes one belief might be the value in using the name (proper noun) of celebrities will help with the advertising function of the text (ad) since people might try to imitate the fashion choices of said celebrity, hence the name was used as part of the text. This, as you say, would fall under cultural context.
