is remote learning somehow an advantage for year 12's??

Since it's distance learning and since mostly everybody's unmotivated, Is remote learning really an advantage for those students who use all this extra time to get ahead? I imagine that this will create a greater distinction between students who are still working and those who have given up. does this mean that it's easier to score higher if we actually put the effort in?
+ extra time till exams and some kind of compensation from the government for our scores.

If you assume everybody is unmotivated (or I guess at least more people than usual) then yes it is an advantage for those "motivated" students. Is it easier to score higher? possibly within the middle range of ATARs but I think once you get into the higher 90s there probably isn't going to be many who are going to be falling out just because they are studying from home.

There will be a heap of research done on remote learning as a result of this pandemic and we should get some concrete evidence on how it impacts students. Possibly could alter parts of our education.

What do you mean by compensation for your scores?

It's a good opportunity for students to learn skills / discipline they'll need to be successful at university.

I HATE REMOTE LEARNING and also I don't think many students at my school are using the time to get ahead. Most of the time is probably going towards catching up on homework (like me) or making up for the lack of sleep that they suffered in term 1. Honestly the subjects I am doing it is so much better to be at school, I can't imagine having to self teach myself for math and chemistry. IT IS A FREAKING NIGHTMARE. Some people have different opinions on this, but I think procrastination is a big problem for many people, but not me as I am super motivated now and started to do some homework again. Also I am a VCE student so yeah I guess I can speak for some students.

Hahah same. After a few weeks of doing remote learning I have to agree with you and say that it is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBlE. I just had an English sac over camera and it sucked because we had to keep our audio on and you could hear everyone typing really loudly.. anyway pretty sure I failed that :( it’s amazing how you feel motivated but rn I can barely go through a school day without procrastinating or checking my phone. Honestly I’m finding it pretty hard to cope especially with chemistry and maths like you said because they are such difficult subjects to do without face to face interaction! I was originally intending to work ahead but I don’t see that happening anymore   ;D

Bruh I am legit just like you, I always intend to work ahead for every subject, but I honestly don't think that it will happen this term. I procrastinate as well, but mine was under control only recently, it still happens time to time tho. Our English test is coming up soon as well, this week I think and so far I really feel sick because of it. The stress is getting to me xD. How do you feel now? Just like you said before chemistry and math is a bloody nightmare without a teaching guiding you along the way.

I am not in year 12 (year 10 doing vce subject, though) and I feel that remote learning would be a disadvantage for year 12s. There is simply less motivation when working from home as we are more easily distracted from family events around the household. If you could stay motivated*, then yes it could be an advantage.

*And wanting to do well is not enough to do well. Every Tom, Dick and Harry really wants to do well but are you willing to put the effort in to achieve that, the effort in that others are not?

I am NOT disciplined at all and the worst thing is that I have unrealistic expectations even after knowing this!  I either have random bouts of motivation where I can study 4 hours straight without any distractions or I can waste a whole day procrastinating and leaving everything to the last minute. there is no in-between! I know this is unhealthy. Anyways good luck on your English SAC (I'm still severely traumatised from my own) but I hope you go well. And I feel like a lot of people are in the same situation as us, (being stressed) so let's hope everything works out.
