Module 3: Last Question! (MAX Profit?)
« on: November 04, 2009, 03:31:05 pm »

What was the maximum profit for the last question in graphs and relations?
Could we use 4.5 and 5.5? Or could we only use whole numbers? Im confused  :-\

I assumed only whole numbers, as number of flights would be discrete not continuous.
Therefore instead of (4.5,5.5), i used (5,5) which also fit the constraints and provided a max profit of 17,000.

Anyone to confirm this?

I said 4.5 and 5.5 as a max profit of 17,400, and then realised this wasn't plausible to have .5 trips.. so i said 'But these values are unrealistic as it is not possible to have .5 trips therefore the maximum 'whole' trips are 5 and 5 this causes a max profit of 17,000'

I pretty much gave 2 answers but made out as though my first answer was just working out lol..

because i used the integer thingy, where you use the most near 8 solutions at the max point. :(
