Hey so just wanted some advice because I’m worried that I have ruined my chances of getting into uni next year. For personal reasons, I wasn’t able to do as well as I had hoped in unit 3 and average probably around a 65% in most SACS. I’m not sure exactly but I think that this is probably around the just below average/average score in my cohort. I definitely believe that I will be able to make a improvement for unit 4 and the exam, but I hope that I haven’t already lost my chance at getting a good ATAR, especially now that the weighting of unit 3 SACS have increased. Is it still possible to get around an 80 ATAR if my unit 3 marks were not ideal. I feel it is also worth mentioning that I am only doing 5 subjects.
Thanks, any advice is much appreciated :)

Hey!

It's certainly still possible.

Your exact SAC marks are unimportant — what matters most is your rank and cohort strength, which we can't comment on as we don't know your cohort. However you still have an entire other unit, and most importantly, the exam, which matters more than either. So yes, you can still get an ATAR you're satisfied with.

I should also note that a sixth subject would only contribute 10% of its mark to your ATAR aggregate, so that's largely inconsequential.

I'd also like to remind you that, if you've experienced difficult circumstances during your VCE, there's no harm in applying for SEAS  :) 🐢
