Hi,
I have found two sources with conflicting information and I am trying to figure out what is true.
This source https://selectivehighschools.education/preparing-for-the-exam/ says that we get only 15 minutes to write.
Whereas, the information pack in this source https://www.education.vic.gov.au/parents/going-to-school/Pages/selective-entry-high-schools.aspx says that we get 30 minutes to write, plus 5 minutes planning time.
So do we get 15 or 30 minutes to write?
Also, they both say that we write persuasive or creative writing. Does this mean we choose between creative or persuasive? Or is it just given to us on the day of the test?
Hey! Just to clear the confusion
The source that said you have 15 minutes obviously wasn't updated. However, if your read the information package which was last updated in May it states the writing pieces will go for 30 minutes with an additional 5 minutes of planning time. Whether or not students are presented with a persuasive or creative writing task varies from year to year, with all students required to complete the same task in any given year kinda like naplan.
And reading last years posts, students were given 30 mintues plus 10 minutes planning time so they did change it again this year. The information package is much more credible than that website as the SEU states that applicants are required to read it.
If you would like to read the imformation package please click the attatchment below and go to page 6!

Hope that helps!
